Civil Blitzkrieg began in around February of 2005, though with a very different name and very different line up. The orginal band consisted of Mike and AJ on guitar, Pat on Bass, and Brad on vocals, and Rick on Drums. This incarnation jammed about twice before Mike quit (he went on to be in The Overlooked for a short time and is now in the Hera Enthroned). The next problem came when AJ realized he couldn't play lead guitar, or much guitar at all for that matter. So Pat, the ever mysterious fellow, picked up a guitar AJ had lying around and started playing. AJ grabbed his brothers bass, re-strung it (AJ being left-handed and all) and the band continued, changing names in the process. Several months went by, with weekly practices about 6 hours each (a practice the band still continues, which they attribute to their large amount of material) until Rick revealed that he looked at the band as "just messing around". The other members pointed out that they were serious about the band, and Rick split. Now the band had a new problem, they had no drummer. So they recruited friend Caly Z to drum. Then, after one practice with this lineup (Brad - vox, Pat - guitar, AJ - bass, Caly - drums) Brad revealed he wanted to try drumming, and showing talent at it, Brad and Caly switched roles, with Caly now on vox. As they had done before, the new line-up got a new name, this time the joke name "Alphabet and the Jello Squad.". This line-up lasted several months into the summer, when an offhand remark by AJ about recording got the response from Caly "Oh...I thought this band was just for fun." And then there were three. Still, the band marched on, with AJ taking on the vox mantle. With AJ, Pat, and Brad all sharing the job of singing (AJ doing it mainly, with Pat every few songs and Brado occasionaly) the band quickly had enough songs to record. Ignoring most bands policy of releasing an EP first, the band (newly changed to the permenant name of Civil Blitzkrieg) decided to get out a full length. They recorded several times over a few months, finally finishing the Futureless LP in March of '06. They continued on, finally beginning to play shows in July, and releasing the Reluctant EP in August. They are currently recording a new album, looking for a label to distribute and possibly re-record the albums, and just have alotta fun.
